Join us for the most inspiring climbing event of the year – the 24-hour climbing marathon with Janja Garnbret, presented by Allianz!

This event will bring together sport, the climbing community, and charity, as it supports young athletes and para-athletes from socially disadvantaged backgrounds through the Botrstvo v športu (Godmothership in Sports) program. Every ticket purchased and every route climbed will contribute to the collective charity fund.

Tickets are available via the link below. You can choose between spectator tickets and climber tickets, and there’s also a 24-hour event pass. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Botrstvo v športu initiative.

As an ambassador of Slovenian tourism, Janja Garnbret is a role model and inspiration for many active and outdoor adventure lovers and sport climbers of all ages. With her story and active role in the charity climbing marathon, Janja Garnbret inspires the world to look towards Slovenia – a country where green peaks, natural climbing areas, and people with big hearts are part of our identity.

Slovenska Bistrica - the rising star of competitive sport climbing

Slovenska Bistrica is a town situated at the crossroads of the rich forests of Pohorje, the wine-growing hills of the Styria region, and the Dravinja Valley, famous for its hop-growing and brewing tradition. It is one of the oldest towns in Slovenia, founded on the remains of a Roman settlement. Throughout history, it has been an essential stopover on the trade route between Vienna and Trieste.

This dynamic and active town in northeastern Slovenia boasts the largest sport climbing centre in Slovenia, spanning an area of over 3,200 square meters. It offers everything a sport climber can imagine: high walls ranging from 9 to 17 meters, bouldering walls, adjustable system walls (Moonboard and Kilter Board) and routes for speed climbing.

Children, beginners, recreational, and professional sport climbers will find climbing challenges to suit their abilities here. And there will be various climbing challenges for everyone at the charity climbing marathon on the penultimate weekend of August.

Discover new adventures in Slovenska Bistrica and its surroundings

The diverse nature around Slovenska Bistrica offers an absolute treasure of cycling and hiking trails. The names of the cycling trails, such as the Swamp Cycling Trail and the Cycling trip to Kebelj, promise enjoyable experiences along the way. Hospitality is also reflected in the wide range of authentic local cuisine.

The most famous hiking trails are located in the direction of Pohorje, but there are hidden treasures of nature that will delight even the youngest hikers in the immediate vicinity of Slovenska Bistrica. You can choose from various thematic trails, such as the Path through the Bistrica Gorge, the Salamander’s path, the Path of Mills and Sawmills, the Bojtina Forest Educational Trail and many others.

For those who will spend most of the day on the charity climbing marathon, the old town is the right choice for a quick introduction to the city, which is built around the Castle and represents a real cultural centre. The castle events for the youngest are also enriched by castle heroes and numerous workshops. The colourful city streets, city squares and various cultural monuments in Slovenska Bistrica are a real photographic experience that you will find it difficult to miss from your camera lens.
